Funds

A fund is a special purpose vehicle that raises money from a number of investors to invest it as per its predetermined policy for the collective benefit of the investors. The transparency of activities, being highly regulated and obliged to compute regularly the Net Asset Value (NAV) that must be published to the public are the comparative advantages over registering a private investment company. We incorporate Fund Management Companies for UCITS and AIFs that can manage any number of UCITS and AIFs. The Management company can be in Cyprus whereas the funds can be registered in any country within the EEA or in a third country outside the EEA.

UCITS and AIFs are funds, UCITS are open funds whereas AIFs can be open or closed funds.

Cyprus has a complete legal framework for the Funds Industry that provides:

1. Modern framework equivalent to established financial centers (full transposition of European Directives including ESMA Guidelines). Specifically the laws UCITS Law 78(I)/2012, AIFM Law 56(I)/2013.
2. European passport

AIFM/MC permitted activities are:

1. Portfolio management on the assets of the fund
2. Risk management on the operations of fund
3. Administration of funds
4. Marketing of funds
